The Bharat Bandh on 31st May, for the people, by the people...

Burning question that is skipping the heartbeat of every Indian is the rocketing price rise. Price rise has become so acute in last five years, that if the same continues, entire economy would be paralyzed and this paralysis could lead to Civil war. Day in and day out, the price of basic commodities has been shooting upwards, no matter whether the rainfall increases or the agricultural output is ascending. The poor distribution system along with mammoth corruption causes unavailability of essential goods for common man. These shortages of necessity products are accompanied by rise in petroleum products, agricultural goods and related basic indispensable items and thus creating havoc in the lives of people of the country.
The comparison of certain basic good’s price in 2004 under NDA Govt. and in 2009 and 2012 under current UPA Govt. would throw light on colossal increase in cost of essential items. The Petrol which was 33.15 Rs. Per liter in 2004 had become 44.60 Rs. in 2009 and has eventually turned to 78.60 Rs. Recently, after the current rise of 7.50 Rs. That is 137% steep rise. Similarly, price of Diesel which was Rs. 22.50 per liter in 2004, turned into 34.50 Rs. In 2009 and now it has become 45.30 Rs!!! The cost of cooking gas, another essential for day to day survival used to cost Rs. 244 per cylinder but in 2004, its price had shoot up to Rs. 312 and in 2009 Rs. 450 per cylinder. The rise of 84%...
Petrol is a perishable commodity. After certain years, it’s bound to be exhausted. Thus, rise in its price is inevitable sometime or other but the price of Crude in international market has increased in limited quantum and this situation of rise in Crude can be controlled by decreasing the tax as well as vat and its benefits can be passed on to the consumer. The rise in price in international market for Crude has caused such devastating effect on Indian economy but the same has not affected the Petrol prices of our neighboring nations.  In  Pakistan, cost of Petrol is Rs. 59 [19.57 Rs. Less than India], In Sri Lanka, it is Rs. 61.70 [Rs. 16.87 less], In Bangladesh, Rs. 43.40 [Rs. 35.17 less]... In developed Countries like USA, the cost of Petrol is Rs. 53.70 [Rs. 24.87 less] and in Russia, it is Rs. 50.20 [Rs. 23.87 less] These entire survey proves that the intention of UPA Govt. at center lacks the initiative for welfare of common beings of the country. It is essential that the central govt. cuts down on its tax revenue and pass this advantage to the commoners of India, mainly the middle and upper middle class. During the rule of Shri A.B. Vajpayee, the same ‘revenue neutral’ system was adopted.
But,
Not only the sheer rise in price of Petroleum products is a cause of deep concern. It is poking sharply in people’s soul coz the unparallel increase in basic food items has turned the taste of morsel completely bitter. Wheat, Rice, Sugar, Tea, Ghee, Oil, different dals such as Toor, Mong, Chana, Jaggery and Besan comprises of staple diet of an average Indian. The price of each of these products have recorded minimum of 100 to 233% of rise in its cost as compared to prices in 2004.Vegetables And Milk have not been left behind. The price of Milk which was 14 Rs, per liter in 04 has shoot up to 36 Rs. Per liter, rise by 157%!!! The vegetable’s prices have almost doubled!!!
All these steep and sharp price rise causes huge jolt in people’s lives. The entire society will have to raise their voice against this daily calamities forced upon them. It is the common man condemning and fighting vehemently to allow them better and reasonable standard of living, would create a hell of difference and alter the situation planted on them. The political parties, especially the opposition will take the lead but the final blow to this heartless Govt. lies in the hands of every common man. Remember, not voting in the election to project your protest against this inefficient Govt. is not the solution as it would enable the incompetents to regain power, as they hail on the votes of lower classes, whom they please with bundles of green currency.
Thus,
It is the middle and upper middle class which has to take the lead...
Its now or never...
