The Lake that fulfills wishes!!! It will.. of 5.5 crores Gujaratis and eventually every Indian.. Kalpsar Project.. Swarnimsiddhi-35.

If you look at the map of Gujarat, on the extreme west of motherland India, on the first glance, it portrays, a picture shot of a Lion, with an open jaws, geared up to strike!!!
And,
Today…
Gujarat, the state has proven this image, by equipped and organized to grab every opportunity, that leads to progress of the state and hence the growth of its citizens.
Yet again, if you gaze at the map of the state, one will notice, that Gulf of Khambhat that separates the area of Saurashtra, from the Khambhat region and one has to travel, a pretty long distance, by road and rail ways to reach the Saurashtra.
The visionary C.M. of Gujarat, Shri Narendra Modi, envision an ambitious mission that would be beneficial to the entire state, in multiple ways.
Shri Modiji has embarked upon an grand project termed Kalpasar - which literally means A Lake That Fulfils Wishes.
Estimated to cost about Rs.54,000 crore, this project envisages the construction of a dam of 64 km across the Gulf of Khambhat, joining Ghogha on the west coast and Hansot on the east coast of the Gulf, forming a water basin of more than 2,000 sq km.
Through a 660-km canal system, 1.05 million hectares of land in coastal Saurashtra will be irrigated. The water will be available for domestic agricultural and industrial use. In addition, the project is expected to generate 5,880 MW of tidal power. The project will have the potential to completely change the economic profile of the state.
Moreover, the dam would have the 8 lane road that would connect the two destinations, cutting short the long travelling time.
Thus, the Ambassador of Gujarat, the king of animals, the Lion of Gir, projects to provide the Lion share, in the development and escalation of Indian economy, by accelerating the growth in every which way, in the Lion shaped state.
Vande Gujarat..
Vande Matram.
