Vidyalakshmi Yojna..Kanya Kelvani hi Guru Mantra.. Swarnimsiddhi-29

A daughter is considered as Ma Lakshmi..
When a daughter is born into the household, the atmosphere of tranquility appears around.
But,
In the patriarchal society, the daughter is considered of lesser importance than the son, who is believed to be taking ahead the family name, as heir. The daughter leaves her paternal home and becomes part and parcel of the household she marries into.
Unfortunately,
The distinction between the daughter’s upbringing and that of son’s is drastically poles apart..Especially in the tradition bound society. The daughter is deemed as a burden.
And,
Imparting equal educational facilities, that would aid her in becoming financially independent and socially strong, is negated.
But,
In the changing scenario of current socio-economic configure, the disparity in the gender discrimination is decreasing day by day... Hence, the immediate need for education in the women has increased hundred folds.
Gujarat Govt. has taken up this call, for educating the daughters, on the priority base. The drop out ratio among the females is on much higher scale as the expense of education is not affordable. To overcome this deficiency, the Govt. of Gujarat has announced Vidyalakshmi Yojna, in the rural areas where the female education rate is less than 35%.
The prime motive behind this scheme is to ensure consistency in the ratio of girls seeking admission in the primary level and to make certain, that the education is completed. Under this scheme, the female child seeking admission, in std.1 is presented with a Narmada Bond of Rs. 1000, which becomes mature, when the child completes 7 years of primary education. At the end of seventh year, the amount of Rs. 2200 is received by the parents of girl child.
The Gujarat Govt. started this unique scheme five years back. Initially, the fund was collected from the donors and the expense was limited.
But,
Since last two years, the Gujarat Govt. bears the entire expense.
As a result, at certain places 100% registration of female child has taken place. It has also ensured maintaining the 100% ratio. This scheme has also benefitted urban population living below poverty line. In last 5 years, 6,99,000 daughters have been benefitted.
The welfare of daughters is very close to Hon. C.M. Shri Narendra Modi’s heart and he has made sure, the daughters receive the best possible opportunities..
Vande Gujarat..
Vande Matram.
